Zameer Rizvi is a successful singer-songwriter having sold more than 30,000 albums in Canada, having licensed the theme song “Win or Defeat” to the 2010 Vancouver Paralympic games, and has a following into the hundreds of thousands on social media. Zameer’s first album has won him numerous accolades: #73 on Billboard Hot 100 (Hot Shot Debut – Canada), #5 on Billboard Emerging Artists Chart (Canada), and #1 on Billboard Next Big Sounds Chart (Worldwide).

After a hiatus from the public eye for five years, Zameer returns with a brand new album being quoted as his best work yet boasting 10 original songs written by Rizvi and produced by 12-time Juno Award winning producer and Grammy nominee, Gavin Brown.

Songs on the album feature collaborations by platinum-selling artist, Mia Martina and drumming legend, Johnny Fay of The Tragically Hip fame. The first single from the album features lead singer from popular Pakistani band, Noori, Ali Noor and is called “Shut The World Out.

I had the opportunity to sit and chat with the eclectically, multi-talented Zameer on a recent trip to Toronto where he shared why he chose to turn away from the public eye five years ago, why he moved from Toronto and set up home in a secluded part of Los Angeles, and what brought him back bigger and better than ever with an album of 10 original songs to share with the world…
